
I used to sketch a lot of jazz musicians, and this week's topic prompted me to dig up old drawings in my effort to give them a home somewhere. The painting is also an old one - all shown on the we
b for the first time.
I would like to go check out the Friday Night Jazz at LACMA before they close for the season in November....

Illustration Friday: Juggle
For this week's IF theme, "juggle", I loosely interpreted four symbols from playing cards/tarot decks: heart for love, key/club for effort, dagger/spade for courage, and coin/diamond for money, with a star thrown in for fame. All are the elements I struggle to juggle....

Illustration Friday: Wedding
The first thing that popped into my head when I thought of this week's IF theme, "Wedding", is the phrase, "tying the knot". To me, this phrase implies that one phase of life is concluded and "wrapped up" between two people, who make a promise to be bound to each other as they begin the next phrase of their lives. I'll keep this phrase in mind for the time if/when I tie the knot....

Illustration Friday: Momentum
To gain enough "momentum" to escape the rat race is a mixed feeling, I'd imagine. I personally like to taste the excitement of new adventure in small doses amid the well-oiled routine of daily turn of things.
