A Year of Sunsets

Sunsets over the beaches in Los Angeles and Santa Monica are simply spectacular.

I keep sketching them - here is the first sunset sketch of the year. This is a view from a pier overlooking the beach. There happened to be a telescope - to me, it feels symbolic, like "looking ahead" to the new year:



I like the challenge of capturing the light that fades within 15 minutes, which is also difficult to do with my aging camera. My memories of sunsets are better than my photos or my sketches!
