Since Los Angeles is a city that sprawls across a wide expanse, most buildings are not as tall as ones in more compactly-built cities like New York. Here are some of the rare nighttime sketches from about three stories above ground, 25 miles (40 km) apart on opposite ends of town: A view from a rooftop of a building: looking at a processing plant in Pasadena, and a view from a bridge over busy traffic on Pacific Coast Highway in Santa Monica.
