Art in the Park

I had a chance to sketch at Griffith Park as part of Society of Illustrators of Los Angeles event, Art in the Park. The weather was gorgeous - it finally felt like summer. The building in the middle with a red and white roof is a merry-go-round:

Griffith Park, Los Angeles CA USA

You can take a look here for my colleagues' sketches - it's pretty neat that we were at the same location, yet we drew different things. I think our personalities and interest comes through more clearly than photography when we draw.

  1. This is really beautiful, Shiho. I love the colors – especially the way you treated the trees in the background. Thanks for organizing such a fun event!

  3. This is wonderful! Such a great balance between the line and wash.

Are you going to ICON? I'll be there starting Wednesday. Looking forward to the Chinatown SketchCrawl!
