I was at a soft launch of "Santa Monica Gourmet Truck Food Court" brought by Southern California Mobile Food Vendors Association yesterday. When I arrived, there were four food trucks parked in one parking lot. Here is my sketch of a stream of people enjoying their food. From a diner's point of view, it's convenient to have one location for multiple trucks offering a variety of food. As an added bonus, this location also offered parking for customers. I think it's a great urban re-use of formerly empty parking lot in the street full of car dealerships.
I tried a lamb frankie from India Jones Chow Truck - concept of meat and condiments in a bread is similar to a hot dog, only the meat with vegetables and a very tasty sauce is wrapped in naan. Yum!
