Sketching and Eating with "Girl Meets Soup"

I did some food sketches for my friend Joanie at Girl Meets Soup blog. I had a great time eating and sketching! For more eloquent description of the meal, you can read her post here - the blog is nominated for Los Angeles Press Club Journalism Awards, and well worth your time if you like to read about food.

The sketches were drawn and colored on the spot. I've used my usual tools: waterbrush + Cotman watercolor kit (that I refilled with watercolor paints from a tube) + Uniball Signo sepia pen. Thanks to Joanie for the photo!

  1. Wonderful sketches, I love your style. I would never have guessed they were as small as you did them.

  2. Thanks, Lisa!

I normally use a small sketchbook anyway, and drawing small helps with not attracting too much attention in a cafe/restaurant....
