Sketch of the Week: Groudhog Day

Groundhog Day this year was overcast with chilly wind, and it rained for the first time in weeks. If a groundhog does not see its shadow on Groundhog day, summer is supposed to be here early - so it was fitting that we already had plenty of sunny and warm January days here in Los Angeles! I was not quite dressed for the weather, so I painted quickly on site and finished adding white highlights at home - this sketch was at Ambassador Gardens in Pasadena.
