Sketch of the Week: A Hint of the Wild West

I went to Los Angeles suburb of Simi Valley when last rains of the winter was approaching. I like watching the shrubs and wild grass turn green before they dry and turn golden brown the rest of the year. Rough rocks jut out of rugged mountains where a freeway was carved and for a brief moment, a hawk circled overhead - a reminder that Wild Wild West is still here, next to the neat tract homes and roaring trucks.
