Illustration Friday: Tall

For this week's Illustration Friday topic, "Tall":

This is a repost of a sketch I did at an airport in Panama. I sketched the super-tall guys from Brazilian volleyball team as they were walking by. One of them kindly helped me by stowing my suitcase in an overhead bin (which was "chin-level bin" to him - his head was touching the plane ceiling). Mind you, I'm very short, so those guys looked especially tall to me. I sketched them with an average-sized woman who passed by to give a better sense of scale.

One of the fun things about sketching is that I remember the event more clearly than if I snapped a photo, and I remember more things when I look at the drawing later. I didn't realize that the suitcase handle can extend so long! I'm sure I exaggerated it a little when I was sketching, but it's not that much of a "stretch" :)
