Sketch of the Week: Barcelona memories

I am home now from the Urban Sketchers Symposium feeling happy and inspired to keep on sketching. A big heartfelt thanks goes out to all who helped put this symposium together - I really enjoyed taking the workshops, talking to sketchers from all over the world, and really immersing myself in this magical city that is filled to the brim with sketching opportunities.

This is a drawing of Sagrada Familia I made on the first day - it was both fun and intimidating to draw such an iconic building that represents this city. I didn't expect the cranes to be so tall and prominent (I suspect many guidebooks retouch out the cranes in the photos of La Sagrada). They were so interesting to draw as they swing and hoist things before my eyes.

There will be more sketches...stay tuned!
